Thanks guys for all your hard work.

I don't know about you but I'm beginning to think there's a touch too much hysteria over the carbon tax debate and that we should settle down and perhaps be a bit more respectful of what our Government is trying to achieve. I for one would like to show Labor my appreciation. You might like to add yours...
So, my thanks to Labor for introducing a tax to combat a cause I don't believe in because, frankly, I've enough money worries as it is, so it's great to know that more of it will be placed into your hands for safe keeping.
A huge thanks for giving me a carbon tax and ETS framework without any detail. It’s like a fill-in-the-blanks game and proving to be so much fun.
Thanks also for reassuring me that, while you can’t actually say what this tax will do for global warming (or is it cooling?) or the effect it will have on industry, jobs or our standard of living, you are still prepared to cross your fingers and throw money at it – I deeply admire you for this alone.
Thanks Julia, for clarifying that the words 'semantics' and 'lies' mean the same thing, or are at least interchangeable. But perhaps you could have one of them removed from the dictionary to save future confusion?
Thanks Greg, for letting me know that "households will be compensated" although I think you actually mean to say "some households will be compensated"? That's okay because I now know (thanks again Jules) that it's just semantics. Oh, and thanks also for giving me one side of the story regarding all the 'others' that have a carbon tax or ETS because my Googling skills have improved no end. Quick question though - is ommitting the full truth 'semantics' or a 'lie'?
My thanks to Penny, for letting me know I'm a flat earther – I didn't know a such a name existed to describe people that have an opposing view to your own. Should it be capitalised and can you speak to Julia about adding it to the dictionary?
Special thanks to Wayne, Tony & Greg for setting me straight. Here was I thinking I was angry at a new tax that was going to run through supply chains like explosive diarrhea, before stopping to collect the GST, and it turns out... I'm just confused. Seriously guys, thanks heaps for sorting that out.
Thanks also to carbon tax supporters everywhere for letting me know that after all the time and money spent on my education I actually remain uneducated because I don't prescribe to your scorched earth (or is it ice age?) theories. Would it be too much to ask for my money back?
Thanks to Gail for getting in on the debate. I'm sure that if the financial sector wants in, then it must be good for us - and I apologise most sincerely that there are people like me holding up the next boom and bust cycle.
Especial thanks to Christine "it will risk the lives and livelihood of millions of people around the globe including here in Australia" Milne and Wayne "We’ve got to make a start because if we don’t, the consequences over time are horrendous.” Swan for alerting me to the fact that Tony "it's a tax" Abbott is an alarmist. My God, how do kooks like him get into government?

And Bob, thanks ever so much for for pointing out the big, evil polluters to me, and assuring me that although together they will never produce as much carbon dioxide emissions in a year that some countries can produce in a day, they will be held up as evil examples to the rest of the world. I thought they were just companies that employ tens of thousands of Australians, are the life blood of many communities, provide returns to shareholders and contribute to the state of the economy. How devious, I feel so stupid!
And Labor, thanks also for value adding to your carbon tax by introducing me to Talkback Radio and Internet blogging. Who knew there were so many people out there just like me?
There are many others I need to thank but I have to go and thank Queensland Labor now so I'm out of time - however, you probably know who you are and exactly why I'd like to thank you.
Again everyone, thanks so much. You're doing a great job, and please be assured that I know I will be deeply indebted to you one day soon.
